Learning & memory

Computational neuroscientist with roots in Psychology. I work with Albert Cardona and Marta Zlatic at the University of Cambridge & MRC-LMB and Claudia Clopath at Imperial College London.

My research focuses on the circuit-level mechanisms of learning and memory in the insect mushroom body — a central brain structure for sensory integration, learning and the control of learned behaviour.

Current projects investigate how reinforcement is distributed across dopaminergic neurons in the mushroom body, and how the individual neurons contribute to learning through distinct, parallel learning rules. I am particularly interested in mechanisms of credit assignment, reinforcement prediction, and how multiple memories are maintained in parallel and integrated to guide behaviour.
